Most of the other reviewers have covered almost everything there is to say about this seat.
I want to point out a subtle yet significant difference between the Evolution and Classic.
In the Classic the foot rest comes BEFORE the steering wheel support structure. In the Evolution the foot rest comes AFTER the structure. This has some significant advantages and disadvantages:
1. The new placement of the steering wheel support structure in the Evolution makes it more stable and also more adjustable.
2. However the new placement of the structure BEFORE the footplate poses some problems with your legs reaching the foot pedals especially when you want to use the foot pedals in the style that most are accustomed to using in their everyday car (ie right foot operates both gas and brake). This is because the steering wheel support bar rises between your legs and therefore becomes a partial obstruction. So in order to make this work you need to shift the pedal as far right as possible, but unfortunately the foot plate doesn't quite go far enough, and as a result you need to use velco and/or twist ties to properly secure the pedals.
Issue 2 is not a problem in the Classic because your legs are completely unobstructed. However the Classic does suffer from stability issues, both because they use smaller metal frames and because of this arching steering wheel support design.
Also Issue 2 is not a problem if you are used to an autoracing style of foot pedal control- ie left foot for brake and right foot for gas.
Overall it is sturdy and well made seat.
One separate issue I'd like to point out is that the seat does not secure the Xbox 360 wheel very well and you have to use additional velcro. This tends to make the seat a bit unstable. So you should consider also purchasing the metal attachment for the 360 that is also available by Playseat on Amazon.
If you want to further enhance the sensation of driving a car, I highly recommend getting the Aura Bass Shaker + Dayton amp, or the Buttkicker. The Aura shakers can be mounted to the side of the playseat by drilling 4 holes.Get more detail about Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat (Black with Silver).
